What is a Project
  • Before you learn the process of managing a project, you must first learn to define it.
  • Learning Outcome: The student will be able to define a project and the characteristics that define it.


How Projects Fail
  • Every day there are projects that fail. You will review some of the reasons why this happens and the causes of these failures.
  • Learning Outcome: The student will understand the reasons behind project failure.


The Stages of Managing a Project
  • There are Five Process Groups within a project. Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitor/Controlling, and closing. At this point in the training you will be given a brief overview of each stage and the importance it plays within a project.
  • Learning Outcome: The student will be introduced to the five stages of project management and will be able to define each stage.

How long is the training course?

The training course is self-paced. Time to complete and fully comprehend will vary with every individual. It may take several days or weeks of study before you feel comfortable to take the final test. You may take the final exam as soon as you’re ready.

How is the exam structured?

This certification exam is timed.  The exam is completed online from home or work.  You may take the exam as soon as you are ready, it does not need to be scheduled in advance.  All questions are multiple choice.  The exam is an “open note” exam, meaning you may use any notes you’ve taken while studying.

How in-depth is the training?

It is designed to give you a solid understanding of the subject and prepare you for the certification exam.  No additional study material is required.
